Position: Web Site Developer

Employment Type: Freelance

Description: DemiGraphics is currently reviewing resumes of Freelance Web Site Developers for our overflow of web site development projects. Web Developers who meet our requirements will then be added to our overflow list, and will be notified via e-mail each time a project is open for bidding. Project notification e-mails will include project description as well as Client's proposed budget for the particular project. Web Developers will then bid for the project, and the Web Developer with the most competitively priced bid will for the most part receive the contract. Not all contracts will be given to the lowest bidder, but rather to the Web Developer whom DemiGraphics believes is most capable of exceeding our Client's expectations. Web Developers shall be rated based on the following 3 factors: quality of work, turnaround time, and price. Web Developers that shall receive the most contracts will be those who display the greatest balance of these 3 factors.

Requirements:
  • Applicants must provide DemiGraphics with recent web site samples, as well as how long each web site took to be completed.
  • Applicants must display expert knowledge in the following programs: Macromedia Dreamweaver and/or Adobe GoLive 4.0 or higher, Macromedia Flash 4.0 or higher, Adobe Photoshop 5.5 or higher, any professional grade FTP (File Transfer Protocol) upload program.
  • Recommended but not required - Moderate to expert knowledge in the following programs: Adobe Illustrator 8.0 or higher, Adobe Acrobat 4.0 or higher, Stuffit or any other comparable file compression software capable of compressing files into ZIP format.
  • Recommended but not required - Moderate to expert knowledge in editing and executing any or all of the following programming languages: Access, ActiveX, ASP, CGI/Perl, Cold Fusion, DHTML, HTML, InterBase, Java, JavaScript, JSP, Microsoft SQL Server, MS Project, MySQL , PHP 4, PLMS, PostgreSQL, XML.
  • Applicants must display web design/development skills comparable to the work designed by DemiGraphics (see our Portfolio), and at most exceed that of DemiGraphics itself.
  • Applicants must display the ability to perform web development tasks in a relatively short amount of time, for quick turnaround time is an important factor.
  • Credentials and/or a college degree are not a requirement. Proven experience, commercial or otherwise, is required. All levels of experience are welcomed to apply.
  • Applicants do not need to be located in or around the Los Angeles area; however, Applicants must be capable of maintaining an open line of communication with DemiGraphics both by phone and by e-mail. Ease of communication is a must!
  • Applicants must be capable of meeting deadlines.
  • Macintosh recommended, but definitely not required.

Salary: Non-salary, pay-per-contract position. Compensation per contract shall be based on a high/low estimate provided by the Web Developer to DemiGraphics, and shall be finalized upon approval of final estimate between DemiGraphics and the Client. Compensation is non-negotiable after final estimate is approved by both DemiGraphics and the Client. DemiGraphics shall act as a liaison between Web Developer and Client for the duration of the contract, and the Web Developer is neither responsible nor obligated to contact or be contacted by the Client unless approved otherwise by DemiGraphics. Depending on the size of the project and unless notified otherwise, compensation shall be delivered to the Web Developer as follows: Web Developer shall receive an initial 50% deposit in the form of a business check to the mailing address provided by the Web Developer to DemiGraphics based on final agreed estimate so as to initiate the project; upon final approval of finished work by the Client and closing of the contract, Web Developer shall receive the remaining 50% of agreed estimate.
